FAQ

We thought you may have some questions about our weekend.

If you still have queries beyond these, please do not hesitate to reach out

to the hotel or our wedding planner, as applicable.

When Should We Arrive?

We appreciate you making the trip to the Dominican Republic to celebrate with us! The official weekend is Feb 20-23, 2026. We recommend you arrive Friday if you can,  so you have a chance to relax- and explore the beauty of Casa de Campo. Saturday evening 2/21  we will host a welcome party & Sunday afternoon 2/22 will be the ceremony and reception!

Do I Need a Passport?

Yes, you will need a passport to enter into the Dominican Republic. To be safe, please check your passports ASAP to ensure that they will not expire within 6 months of our Wedding date ( through Aug 2026!).. Some countries do not allow entry within 6 months of expiry.  If that is the case, we recommend renewing your passport as soon as possible.

Are There Any Customs Forms I Need to Complete Prior to Entering the Dominican Republic?

The Dominican Republic has migrated its customs forms to a digital platform you can fill out in advance of your flight for both entering and leaving the country. Please note that the use of this platform is free. We recommend completing it beforehand on your phone and taking a screenshot of your QR code for easy access.

What Do I Wear to the Welcome Party?

For the Welcome Party on Saturday, tropical chic is the word! Flowy, colorful dresses for the ladies and collared shirts or sport coats for the men!

What Do I Wear to the Wedding Day?

For our wedding on Sunday, the dress code is beach formal.

Men, this means you should wear a suit, but feel free to rock a tie also.

Please wear floor length dresses and gowns for the wedding and reception. Have fun with your outfits,

bright colors again encouraged.

Should you wish to reserve hair and make-up appointments for any of the wedding events, Casa de Campo Resort & the Marina, have on-site beauty salons for hair, makeup, and nail services. We recommend scheduling your appointments well in advance of your arrival, as the salon appointments fill up quickly.

When Do I RSVP?

Formal invitations and RSVPs will be collected towards the end of this year.

Final RSVP date will be indicated on the Invitations. If you already know you cannot attend now, we will miss you! We would also appreciate it if you could please RSVP “Not Attending” by sending a note to claire@claireduran.com

Can I Bring My Kids?

We adore your little ones, but our wedding and related events will be an adults-only celebration. We truly appreciate you making arrangements in advance so you can relax, enjoy, and celebrate with us!

Can I Bring a Guest?

Unless your invitation indicates a guest, the guest list is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those whose names are listed on the invitations. We appreciate your understanding.

Do I Need to Rent a Car?

All hotel rooms will come with a golf cart-this is the major way of transportation around Casa de Campo! Renting a car is not necessary. And for airport transfers, we recommend using the services of Renny Travel. Make sure to do so at least 2 weeks before the wedding and mention the Trapp / Sargeant wedding in the comment box.

Can I Drive my Golf-Cart to the events?

Transportation will be provided to the Welcome Party and to the Wedding, with round trips to / from the hotel lobbies (regular lobby and Premiere club). It is not recommended that you drive your golf cart as parking is very limited.

Can I Stay Outside of Casa de Campo?

No, you must stay on the property of Casa de Campo in order to attend the Wedding festivities.

We promise it will be worth it!

Is the Hotel All-Inclusive? Do I Need to Do the All-Inclusive Option?

It is completely up to you whether or not you choose the all-inclusive option. Casa De Campo gives all guests the option to choose whether or not they'd like to enjoy an all inclusive experience OR a non inclusive experience. This decision can be made when you are selecting your accommodation. Selecting all inclusive will include most Casa De Campo restaurants as well as drinks and certain activities.  For those who do not choose all inclusive, payment is ala carte. It is completely your decision.

What is the Currency in the Dominican Republic?
Should I Exchange Dollars?

Currency in the Dominican Republic is pesos. If you're planning to spend all your time at Casa de Campo, you will be able to get by with your Credit Card and dollars, and there's no need to exchange pesos. If you need to exchange dollars to pesos, we recommend either using an ATM machine or the resort. The airport currency exchange booths never offer the best rate. Also, keep in mind that the exchange rate fluctuates daily, and at the moment of typing this answer (02/06) the rate is $1USD = 62.15 Dominican presos.

How is the Weather in Casa de Campo?

The Dominican Republic has a tropical climate. Temperatures range from high 80’s during the day to high 60s in the evening. February is a part of the dry season and is a beautiful time to visit the DR.

Please make sure to pack your sunscreen!
